Early political career

From the year 1996 to 2016, he was associated with Swadeshi JagaranManch as its Joint State Coordinator for Tamilnadu.During his tenure, he has voiced for many people related issues and undertaken yatras, demonstrations to impress on theSwadeshi ideas. In June 2016, he joined the BJP and has been appointed us State Secretary and Madurai Zone In-charge.

2016 to Jul 2020– As the State Secretary, Tamilnadu BJP has been instrumental in setting up a full-fledged office for BJP atMadurai. He is also the face of BJP in many of the political debates aired on Television. Equipped with historical data and facts,Prof Dr R. Srinivasan is one of the very few participants presenting constructive and progressive views in debates. Also as theMadurai Zone Coordinator and Parliament In-charge is responsible for conducting regular party cadre meetings, deliberatingactions to community issues and inducting members in to the party fold.

State Policy Cell, BJP Tamilnadu

Oct 2017 to Jul 2020– As member of the State Policy Cell (BJP), conducted seminars and awareness forums on business potentialof Industries in Southern Tamilnadu, government policies and impact on SME, human – nature interaction for well-being etc.,

Jul 2020 - Appointed as General Secretary for Tamilnadu State BJP; and state in-charge for OBC wing.

Indian general elections

Contested in Thiruparankundram Tamilnadu Legislative Assembly bye elections as the BJP candidate. Garnered more than 7000 votes which has been the highest ever for the party in Tamilnadu.

Initiatives

• He initiated a novel idea, "PanditDeenadayal People Service Centre" at Madurai to serve the needy.
• A novel programme at Madurai has been initiated by him named "Thamarai Sevak". The objective of this programme is to bring more number of beneficiaries under the PM's Welfare schemes through the party's efforts.
• By his efforts, Madurai has been specially mentioned and appreciated in the National Executive meeting of BJP held at Delhi in 2018.
• He was instrumental in launching a movement "AIIMS for Madurai" when the center's announcement wasdelayed by the State Government.
• When GST was announced, he conducted more than 50 seminars to academicians in colleges and traders inother trade bodies. Many of the grievances of the trading community were brought to the notice of the GST
• Council and some issues were resolved to the satisfaction of the traders.
• He started an Online Website "Lotus Times" in English to promote the party's ideologies among the elite group. Itwas a successful experiment and has completed 2 years.
• Lot of Social Engineering work has been undertaken in Madurai. Serious efforts have been taken to consolidateOBC and SC communities of this region and enormous goodwill has been created in the community.
• He wrote 20 series of articles on "EkatmaManav Darshan" in "Ore Naadu"
• He conducted mass movement in favor of granite quarry labors to revive their livelihood in Madurai District
• When Sivakasi fireworks and crackers industry got jolt due to court judgments, he took up this matter to theappropriate ministries at New Delhi and tried to solve their problem.
• He has also acted as an effective translator from English to Tamil when all India leaders and Ministers visitedTamilnadu.
• In Madurai zone, training for social media is given utmost importance. New modules have been designed andtraining programs have been created for the people of Madurai.
