PARIS TERRORIST ATTACK MAY DRIVE SPIRITUAL SEARCHING

GMO Sees Online Traffic in France More Than Double

PLANO, TX (January 20, 2015)In the days following the Paris terrorist attack, Global Media Outreach (GMO) saw online traffic from France more than double.

“The terrorist attack may be a catalyst for people in France, and around the world, to seek understanding of why the attack happened and what it means for their own spiritual journey. Global Media Outreach saw more than a 200 percent increase in our traffic in the days following the attack. We often see this in a crisis situation, and we have a team of more than 7,000 online missionaries who are ready to pray for people and be there to encourage them and share Jesus’ love,” said Michelle Diedrich, Chief Marketing Officer at Global Media Outreach.

Global Media Outreach has witnessed increases like this before. Last year, there was a surge in traffic from the Middle East as people responded to the actions of ISIS in the region. With more than 200 websites in 26 different languages, the ministry is reaching people from around the world.

In 2014, more than 407 million people found the Gospel online through one of the ministry’s sites. Of those, 31 million indicated a decision to accept Jesus as their Savior.
