Do you tweet about Jesus? Or maybe you’ve given God praise on your Facebook status. According to Pew Research Center, Americans are doing just that.
Last week, Pew Research Center released new information stating one-in-five Americans share their faith online each week. Since sharing Jesus online is what we do, we’re excited to dig into the results of Pew’s research.
According to Pew, when Americans share their faith online, it isn’t going unnoticed. Analysis shows 50 percent of adults—who aren’t affiliated with any religion—told Pew they saw someone share something about their faith online in the past week. That means your Facebook status, tweet or Instagram post has the potential to reach a person who doesn’t know Christ!
If you’ve ever had any doubt about the Internet being part of the mission field, take a look at some of the findings of the survey:
These highlights confirm what we’ve experienced for the past decade. However, many wonder if sharing your faith online is effective. Not only is it effective, but it’s just the beginning. Global Media Outreach conducted a survey called the Christian Growth Index to see what happens after someone indicates a “Yes” decision to receive Christ through one of our online websites.
Nearly 90 percent of the respondents said they now share their faith with others. They’re even engaging in other activities such as attending church, praying and reading the Bible. It’s clear that sharing your faith online can begin with one testimony or tweet, and end with a life changed for eternity!
Online Missions is a great complement to the methods you already use to share your faith. Plus, we have free tools you can use to introduce your social networks to the Gospel. So what are you waiting for? Find out how you and your entire church can share the Gospel online by clicking here.
