Just last month, I had the incredible opportunity to host a long-term partner from India at our headquarters. This man has worked tirelessly for the last four years, coordinating many of our projects to reach his people in India. Yet, in all that time, he had only met one staff member from Global Media Outreach. As he came face to face with dozens of people he had only talked to on the phone, it was exciting to see him come alive and develop deeper, richer relationships with those he had worked with for four years.
The author of Hebrews, most likely Paul, reminds us how important face-to-face meetings are vital to our spiritual growth and encouragement. He says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:24-25
For many seekers around the world, it’s nearly impossible or dangerous to find a church or group of believers to fellowship with. It’s often why they search online to find answers about Jesus. That’s why our on-the-ground connections project is so important.
Though limited to a handful of countries like India and China, Global Media Outreach is discovering the success factors of connecting online seekers to local pastors. We’re developing the technological tools to support that work so we can grow this opportunity around the world.
Your support of Global Media Outreach has made the difference in so many lives. You’ve connected a young man in an Asian battle zone to a church family who now supports and prays for him. And I can’t forget the most recent story of a South American family who surrendered their lives to Jesus and have been baptized in the church—all because of your support! None of this would be possible without you.
